AGEL is now Zero-Waste-to Landfill Certified & Adani Power gets B score for climate change transparency

“Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), the renewable energy arm of the diversified Adani portfolio companies has received the Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) certification for 100 per cent of its operating capacity,” a company statement said.

Adani Power has also received a B score for climate change transparency from CDP Carbon Disclosure Project for 2022.

According to a corporate statement, this is higher than the average for the world and Asia, which is C, and equal to the average for thermal power generation, which is B. In the thermal power generating industry, 12 percent of companies fall in the disclosure band, 16 percent in the awareness band, 48 percent in the management band, and 24 percent in the leadership band.

Compared to the global average, APL’s performance was strong in the following areas: Governance; Vertical 1, 2 and 3 emissions; risk management process; opportunity disclosure; business strategy; Financial Planning; and scenario analysis.

Adani Power Limited (APL) is one of 48% of businesses that have achieved climate change management status, and one of 77% in terms of water security.
